We've estimated your monthly pay (before tax) for your maternity leave, including the month before and after so that you can compare your pay. We've not included deductions such as student loans, tax, pension, salary sacrifice, or additions such as holidays taken as payment, grants or child benefit. MoneySavingExpert have a handy calculator to help find your take-home pay moneysavingexpert.com/tax-calculator/.
If you work any KIT/SPLIT days, use the KIT button on the Calendar page to add them into your monthly pay calculations. If you'd just like to see your annual pay after changing the number of days you work, we have an Annual Pay Tool for that.
For determining the weekly rate of pay, staff on maternity leave will receive 7/365ths of the annual rate of salary for each week of Maternity Pay. During the part month prior to the commencement of maternity leave, or on returning from maternity leave, the part month payment will be paid as outlined (See SNCT website). https://www.snct.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Appendix_2.19
Your tax code tells your employer how much tax to take from your pay. If you’re due a refund and your tax code has been corrected, your employer will give you a refund in your pay. https://www.gov.uk/claim-tax-refund/y/pay-from-a-job
