We've estimated your monthly pay for your maternity leave, including the month before and after so that you can compare your pay. Gross pay includes pay rises and salary point increases, but please note many councils are slow introduce pay rises and then backdate the missing pay a few months later. As we have no way of knowing this, we show increases immediately. Take-home pay includes estimated deductions for Scottish Income Tax, National Insurance, pension, salary sacrifice and loans. We've not included additions such as holidays taken as payment, grants or child benefit.
For determining the weekly rate of pay, staff on maternity leave will receive 7/365ths of the annual rate of salary for each week of Maternity Pay. During the part month prior to the commencement of maternity leave, or on returning from maternity leave, the part month payment will be paid as outlined (See SNCT website). https://www.snct.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Appendix_2.19
Your tax code tells your employer how much tax to take from your pay. If you’re due a refund and your tax code has been corrected, your employer will give you a refund in your pay. https://www.gov.uk/claim-tax-refund/y/pay-from-a-job
